Head lice are tiny insects that live in human hair. Though they are not exclusively a childhood ailment, the majority of people affected by head lice are young.

There are no adverse effects on an individual’s health if they have head lice but it can be embarrassing and uncomfortable.

This session aims to increase children’s awareness of head lice and the treatments available to eradicate them along with increasing their awareness of the things to do to avoid contracting them in the first place.

N.B: This session can also be delivered to Parents.

Pupils Will:

  • Be aware of what head lice are.

  • Be aware of how lice transmit from person to person and be encouraged to avoid these situations.

  • Be aware of the life cycle of head lice.

  • Be aware of the signs and symptoms of having lice.

  • Be aware of how to eradicate head lice through the various treatments available.

  • Be aware of the procedure involved with contact tracing.

Parents Will:
